Much Ado About Blogmas - Days 15 - 18

Well, I knew there was a reason for me to think that participating in Blogmas would be a mistake: that reason is that I can't find the time and energy to post every day. And that's on regular days, let alone if I'm spending the weekend away with my friends. I actually didn't even open my laptop in the past couple days (until tonight, of course), and that's pretty much why I asked Allie to post here this weekend (and not some other time, she's amazing of course I'd eventually have her come here for a guest post), but due to the fact that Google didn't believe it was me signing in from the other side of Europe, I had to verify her and I was deeply asleep by the time she realized that.
Long story short, it wasn't until I woke up this afternoon that I saw I had to figure out how to verify her, do it, and only then she could write here, which she kindly did (and did a marvelous job at that too!), and I'm very thankful for it.

I figured I should at least try to make up for the lost time by telling you about my weekend, so this post will be more of a diary entry than the usual posts. I don't know, It's Christmas time, I'm in a giving mood and my gift to you is allowing you to get to know me and my life a bit better, so if you're not into that, feel free to move on to some other post now.

For months my friends and I spoke of spending a weekend together at Bee's dad's apartment in Viana, but it was always a "we gotta' do this some time" and never a "we're going to do this that day". That changed a couple weeks ago, when we decided that soon as university allowed us all, we'd do this. It just so happened that my first weekend of Christmas break was also the first weekend they didn't have anything due (yes, because we have professors who make us deliver stuff on Sundays), so we decided this would be the one. Later that week, we invited a couple other friends to join us, making a total of 6 people in that place.

This past Thursday was my last day of school before the break, and the one class I had was actually a test, so after spending all night preparing to cheat my heart out (it's Art History, I suck at history... I've been taking this class for three years, I'm tired and desperate. Don't judge me), I ended up taking that test with about two hours of sleep and no caffeine, because of effin' course the coffee machine is broken when I need it the most. After that test, I went to ISEP (my previous uni) and took a nap there, for nearly two other hours, and it was when I woke up that I decided that maybe I should head to bed, so I went home, and lucky as I am, I couldn't sleep.
Soon enough, Facebook notified me that one of my Erasmus colleagues had invited me for a Christmas celebration at his place, and, naturally, I got up and went there. It was fun, and I never expected to like warm wine, but jfc that was delicious. I've always loved to spend time with my colleagues from Erasmus, mostly because they're usually very different than the kind of people I'm used to meeting here and I love different. Anyway, I was tired like hell, so I left early and went home.

I slept like a log and when I woke up the next afternoon, I had to pack my stuff and get ready to go. Not only had I to prepare everything I needed for the weekend, I also needed to prepare for the following weeks I'll be staying with my parents, and make all that fit in a "two days necessities" bag, since there would be five of us going in a small car with a trunk that couldn't fit all of our junk. The good news were that I was gonna' be the first to be picked up so I could ride shotgun (at least for a while); also, the driver was having dinner with me before going, so I knew I wouldn't delay anyone. I made us pizza, we ate, and we left to pick up everyone else.
Right before we went to pick up the last of us, I switched to the back seat, for the sole reason that our two chubbiest people wouldn't fit together back there with another human, so I had to be sacrificed because I'm skinny. On the bright side, I had way more space for my legs back there than up front, since there were a bunch of bags and such by A's feet because she was riding shotgun.
By the time we arrived home, it was very late, so we just sat around the table playing cards while drinking a bit (we actually put Christmas hats on the corners of the TV, watched History Channel, and drank every time the hat fit someone's head), soon as we got all the beds made.

Look at the pretty view from the apartment! ♥

Yesterday, I woke up with the loudest music coming from outside! I was actually sharing the bed with my friend Ruu, and we both just assumed that Symba was having the time of his life in the living room, playing some techno as loud as he could, only to find out he was actually as annoyed by it as we were, for the loud songs had woken him up too. There was this marathon or something going on and we just so happened to be spending our short vacations right next to the finish line (at least I think that's what it was).
In that afternoon, we actually took the time to go out and walk around the city a bit, mostly because our Christmas dinner was happening that night and some of us still had gifts to buy, since we started this tradition of Secret Santa-ing between us. It just made sense that we'd use that money on one good thoughtful gift rather than buying three shitty gifts.
After dinner, before we started our drinking game, we decided to open the gifts. I actually received mine from Ruu, and she's the trollest of them all, so half my present was air from her lungs wrapped in newspaper. The other half, however, was super adorable. I received a total of four items: a choker, a handmade anti-stress cube, a box for tobacco packs and one of my fave cakes.
She obviously knows me very well, and that's because she pays attention to every detail: she saw how excited I got over my choker, so she gave me another one; she knows how much I love those cakes, so she got me one; she figured I could use a box for those ugly packs and that one looked like it was made for me; and she noticed how hyped I was about this cube, so she made her own version of it.

It has poop stickers all over it *-*

Anyway, once all gifts were opened and thanked for, we headed to one of my favourite drinking games: Ring of Fire. By the time the game was over, we were all pretty drunk and so we decided to watch The Magnificent Seven (2016), as chosen by Bee and Symba; and pretty much everyone but me fell asleep at some point in that movie. I actually enjoyed it, but I thought that if it was a Tarantino movie, it would've been much better because you just can't have that much killing with such little blood. It was a very Tarantino-ish, minus the red, nonetheless, so I did enjoy it. I'd say it's a good time, no alcohol required, but I did have some alcohol before watching that movie, and I don't know whether that had something to do with how much I liked it or not, but I will definitely watch it again in the future, which is nice.
By the end of the movie, all my friends were down, and I was full of energy, so I got up and went to put an extra cover on the bed, made the bed, and went back to the living room to drag Ruu to bed, and everyone eventually followed up on our lead.

Today, I was the last one waking up, and while most of my friends went out to see the view from the top of the mountain, Ruu and I stayed at home. While she got some school work done, I had breakfast, got all dressed up, packed my stuff and got ready to go home, since my parents were picking me up soon to go visit my family.

This pretty much sums up my past few days, so you see why I didn't even pick up my computer, let alone sit in front of it long enough to write posts; and I hope you'll find it in your heart to forgive me.

How are your holidays going? What would you like to receive these holidays? Let me know on the comments down bellow ☺

Peace *
