XXIII FITISEP (aka the reason I was away)

Hello, friends! I'm sorry I have been away for so long, but I'm an idiot who didn't prepare for my busy life and long story short, I didn't have the time to write posts in the past couple weeks, and this is me letting you know why that happened.

The first thing you need to know is what the hell is a Tuna, and that is an academic group of people who play songs. My favourite Tuna is TAISEP (Tuna Académica do Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto) and every year they host this festival called FITISEP. Ever since 2012, they make a parody music video to present at their festival. This year's video is called "Oh Chefe", which means "Oh Boss", and this time I actually got to help them out with the whole thing and I even show up in there (funnily enough, I show up the moment the subtitles say "these Portuguese (people) are mentally retarded"). It is a bit offensive, yes, but to be honest I find the translation more offensive than the original parody, so it's mostly a language barrier.

Nailed It! #1 - REALLY lazy nail art

I have bitten my nails since I was a child, I honestly can't remember the last time I used anything that wasn't my teeth to cut my (hand) nails short, mostly because I didn't need to cut them, because they'd break and then I'd bite the rest off. Even if I tried my best to let them grow, I'd eventually get distracted and end up ruining it all during some more intense scene in some series or movie. After years and years of ugly bitten/broken nails, I found home made nail art. Tutorials started showing up on my feeds and I actually enjoyed watching them, so I eventually leveled up to subscribing to nail art channels on youtube. This past summer, I actually got down the nail art hole, binge watched the whole Simply Nailogical channel, followed by a bunch other nail artists, and started doing it myself.
Nail art turned out to be very relaxing and entertaining, and mostly really, really time consuming. The fact that I would sometimes take over 3 hours to get my nails done made me way more careful with them, and even if I were to go so far as to put my nail in between my teeth, the moment I felt the polish against my lips, I'd back down and just use my phone to keep my hands busy or something, because I am not redoing this. I did get my nails to grow to an all time record (which isn't that long really), but then I spent a couple days without any polish on and bye, nails! They broke, and the ones that didn't break I bit to get them closer to the others' size (I couldn't find the nail cutter thingy, don't judge me I was GRIEVING OK????). Now they're all short and shapeless and terrible, but that's just what they were like when I started this whole adventure a couple months ago, and now that I know I can't not protect my nails, I'm sure I'll be able to actually grow them to be as long and pretty as I always wanted them to be, by keeping my nail art sessions in my life.

Well, tonight I had to meet some friends from when I was in middle school and I couldn't just not wear nail polish, for all the reasons I just told you about. I had already decided to post about nail art some time this weekend anyway, so this was my perfect excuse, only I really wasn't in the mood for overly complicated nails, so I just picked one of the many lazy quick designs I could make: plain nails with a few dots on a couple of them.
Believe it or not, most of the redness on my skin came from my hair. I actually chose to paint my nails red because of that.

Shopping Spree #1 - Autumn + Winter Haul

Today I went shopping with my mum and I loved these new acquisitions I felt a mighty need to share them with you, and I couldn't even wait for the morning.
I don't particularly enjoy being just like the others, which meant I needed something to make this post mine and not just one of the many, so I got this little cute-o-meter to rate the stuff I bought.

It goes from 1 heart - meh - to 7 hearts - hella. I doubt I'll ever rate anything with 1 heart, tho. Let's face it, if I bought it, I obviously like it, but I'm sure it'll be quite fun to get these ratings done and read on how you agree or not with me.

Sorry for the low quality of the pictures but I don't own an expensive camera like most of my colleagues and these were taken under the best light I could find in the house at this time, which is still lousy, and with my phone's cameras (some may seem to have better quality than others, that's a matter of front vs back cameras). Hope you can look past that and love my broke ass nonetheless ♥

About me • Q&A

Hello! I'm Gabriela, but people call me Gambii, and I'm from Portugal. I'm 21+ (long story short, I stopped counting my age after 21 because a) I didn't want to keep track anymore and b) I grew tired of having to update all my descriptions every year), if you want to do the math, I was born in September 1993, which makes me a Virgo and a Rooster. On top of all that, my moon sign is Libra and my ascendant is Scorpio. I don't really believe those things, but I know a couple people who do and this kinda helps them figure me out.
I'm a proud Slytherin Thunderbird, I'm on Team Instinct (yes, I still play Pokémon GO, don't judge me) and I once took a test that told me I was Chaotic Good (and I honestly agreed).
I'm new with this blogging thing, so I obviously asked for help with this. My sister Allie told me I should definitely answer to a few commonly asked questions, so here we are! Speaking of Allie, here's her blog! 10/10 much recommend, you should definitely check it out!
